The Head Of The British Finance Ministry Asks For A Delay In The Publication Of The Annual Budget Due To COVID And Brexit
The UK Treasury has asked Parliament for a delay in publishing the country's annual budget as part of the autumn report. Finance Minister Rishi Sunak requested the parliamentarians.
The Minister said that he asked the office for budget responsibility (OBR) to prepare economic forecasts, which will be published in mid-or late November. Sunak did not specify the exact date, which gives him room for maneuver amid the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, as well as amid the impasse over Brexit trade negotiations.
After the opening of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, and other businesses, the UK economy began to show a recovery. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), UK GDP growth in July was 6.6% compared to the previous month.
