Ebay Founder Pierre Omidyar Leaves The Company's Board Of Directors
The founder of the platform for online auctions eBay Pierre Omidyar leaves the Board of Directors of the company and will receive the title of Honorary Director, according to a release from eBay.
"For 25 years, I have watched with pride as the company I created opened up economic opportunities for people around the world. Having made sure that there are a well-thought-out strategy and leadership, I can confidently move on to the role of honorary Director," Omidyar's words are quoted in the message.
Jesse Cohn is also leaving the Board of Directors. The decision to dismiss him takes effect immediately, the company says.
At the same time, eBay introduced new Board members: Carol Hayles, former CFO of CIT Group, and Mohak Shroff, Senior Vice President of Development at LinkedIn.
"Their appointment will bring significant experience and knowledge at a critical time that will support eBay's technological reinvention," said Paul Pressler, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
eBay Inc. is a company that provides services in the areas of online auctions and online stores founded in 1995. It has a headquarter in San Jose, California.
