David Beckham's Guild Esports Company Intends To Conduct An IPO In London For 20 Million Pounds
Ex-England footballer David Beckham's eSports company Guild Esports plans to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) on the London stock exchange (LSE) and raise 20 million pounds, the company said
in a statement.
Mirabaud Securities and Zeus Capital have been selected as the organizers of the IPO, which is scheduled for autumn.
Guild Esports intends to use the funds raised to expand its activities and invest in brand development.
"Guild will be the first eSports franchise to be listed on the London stock exchange, which will provide us with the reliability, credibility, and capital to fulfill our ambition to be among the top ten eSports franchises within three years," said Guild Esports chief Executive Carlton Curtis.
The company also plans to train teams to participate in global eSports competitions in Fortnite, CS: Go, Rocket League, and Fifa.
According to Guild Esports, the number of viewers of eSports competitions in 2019 reached 443 million people. By 2023 this figure will increase to 646 million.
