According to a last week, people who have connected their bank accounts to finance tech apps might be entitled to compensation.

According to the class action lawsuit, Plaid "obtained user login credentials (username and password) through its user interface, known as 'Plaid Link,' which had the look and feel of the user's own bank account login screen."

Plaid's portfolio of over 5,500 client apps is expected to be modest, according to the settlement.

The settlement has been approved by a judge in November, and some people have reportedly received notices this month stating they may be eligible to make a claim.

Plaid will not be allowed to continue to use login information from users, according to the agreement.

According to the settlement website, you may be a class member if you are a US resident who connected a financial account to an app that uses Plaid between January 1, 2013, and November 19, 2021.

Plaid did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
