A 23-year-old suspect has been charged with the murder of a friend in October, according to police.

Ivory Brooks Jr. was shot dead in the Oct. 26, 2021 incident, according to Montgomery police.

That morning, a shooting occurred at 2700 block of Biltmore Avenue on Thursday, but Brooks was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A woman was injured but he was still alive.

According to court documents against Williams made public Friday, Williams and Brooks were committing a felony, dangerous to human life, by carrying guns into an occupied vehicle.

It wasnt immediately clear who killed Brooks, but Alabama's felony murder law allows a person to be charged with murder if they are involved in a crime that results in death, whether or not that person actually pulled the trigger.

According to the records, shots were fired into a Dodge Challenger, which was owned to a woman and two others.

Williams was detained on bond totaling $180,000 in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on Friday.
