HAMTRAMCK, MI A Michigan judge has apologized for shaming a man suffering from cancer for his overgrown, weedy yard, according to TheAssociated Press.

According to the AP, Judge Alexis Krot, of Michigan's 31st District Court, has issued a public apology this week for shaming the 72-year-old immigrant and saying she wished she could sentence him to prison time.

Burham Chowdhury, a native of Bangladesh, was ordered to pay $100 for the overgrown weeds at the rear of his property in Detroit, Michigan, according to a local TV station.

Krot said during the online hearing that the neighbors should not have to look at that. You should be ashamed of yourself. If I could give you jail time on this, I would.
