Alex Garland is re-teaming with A24 for Action Epic, Civil War, Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, and man ...

(Ex Machina, Men), an Oscar-nominated filmmaker, is in the process of reassembling for Civil War, an action thriller that will feature (The Power of the Dog, The Beguiled), (Dune, Bruised) and (The First Lady, Mare of Easttown).

From his original screenplay, Garland will direct the film in a near-future America.

A24 will distribute the film with Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, of DNA, and Gregory Goodman, and will be responsible for the film's global release.

Garland has won his first Oscar nomination for his Ex Machina screenplay in 2016 and has won several awards, including a DGA Award and three BAFTA Award nominations.

The actress has been chosen for her role as Rose Gordon in Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog in FX's Fargo. She has been selected for the SAG Award in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, along with such films as The Beguiled, Hidden Figures, Midnight Special, Melancholia, Marie Antoinette.

Moura is best known stateside for his Golden Globe-nominated role as Pablo Escobar in Netflix's Narcos. The Brazilian actor and filmmaker also directed, directed and produced the film Marighella, which will be shown on Apple TV+ series, The Shining Girls.

Henderson has appeared in several films including Devs, Proven Innocent, Fear the Walking Dead and Run, Denis Villeneuve's Dune and Halle Berry's Bruised.

Spaeny will be next seen in The First Lady Showtime, which has appeared in HBO's critically acclaimed Mare of Easttown.

DNA previously produced Garland's films Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Men, and has also been behind various films including Trainspotting, The Last King of Scotland, Love, and Actually.

Three Kings, 8 Mile, Captain Phillips, and 22 July are past production credits by Goodman.
