Connect families to schools that are fit to combat confusion at an elementary school fair

LAS VEGAS, January 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine a relaxed environment where you can chat with a representative of a school you're interested in, then walk just a few feet and do the same for another school you're considering.

On Saturday, January 22, more than 75 schools of all types will be on booths at the Conference Center of Las Vegas to answer family concerns. The free event will include face painting, a photo booth, snacks and drinks, and a scavenger hunt.

The Las Vegas School Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to all families. More than 1,500 community members are expected to attend.

Families can also learn how to apply for the Nevada Opportunity Scholarship, which provides educational opportunities to eligible families of all ages.

This event is expected to coincide with the National School Choice Week from January 23 to 29 in 2022, which will feature more than 26,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

"This epidemic has caused a fire in the school system for 18+ months, forcing parents to reevaluate their family needs, and school choice should be prioritized," says Valeria Gurr, president of the American Federation for Children. "No matter your economic status, educational choices should be held in the hands of parents.

The Nevada School Choice Coalition, a project of the American Federation for Children, has planned the event.

The Conference Center of Las Vegas is located at 6590 Bermuda Rd, and parking is free. Families can register in advance for the free event and see photos from the 2019 school fair at.

The National School Choice Week shines a spotlight on effective K-12 educational options for children, focusing on traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and home education options. Every January, participants plan tens of thousands of celebrations such as school fairs and open houses to raise awareness about school choice in all 50 states.
