Highlights of Flint-area basketball: Linden sweeps Fenton in Metro League neighborhood clashes
FLINT Theres a log jam at the top of the Flint Metro League Stripes Division standings.
Linden beat Fenton 45-42 on Friday to tie for the first time in the Stripes Division, while Goodrich is a half-game back at 5-1.
Linden led by a Reichen Lund with 18 points, while Joe Miller added 12 to the Eagles.
Fenton scored 11 points from Seth Logan and 10 from JaHion Bond, but the Tigers fell to 5-3 overall and 4-3 in the Metro.
Flushing 77 and Swartz Creek 43 have impacted the floods.
Flushing (6-1) won its third straight game, beating Swartz Creek 22-12 in the third quarter. Swartz Creek fell to 1-8 in the second quarter.
Kearsley 50, Holly 26
The Hornets clinched 12 points with Tyler Csintyan adding 11 points with Lucas Groulx off the bench. Holly fell to 2-5.
Bendle 95, International Academy 91
Emillio Riley scored 18 points to lead Bendle (4-3) with ten assists, seven assists and seven blocked shots. Kieteris Hamlet added 23 points and 12 assists for the Tigers.
Corunna 46, Ortonville Brandon 42
Corunna outscored the Blackhawks 14-7 in the third quarter to take a lead in the league. Noah Gillespie scored 16 points to lead Brandon, who got 13 points from Brad Mitchell.
Durand, 52, and Chesaning, 47, both have died.
Durand was 6-2 after winning its fourth straight game. Chesaning fell to 6-3.
Montrose 46, New Lothrop 54
Ty Kohlmann scored 28 points, while Jordan Belmar added 13 points for New Lothrop, which pushed the record to 3-2. Marcus Hosner led Montrose with 17 points, and Evan Hockey had 12.
Lapeer 70, Bay City Western 47, are the only persons who live in the Lapeer 70.
Brendan Pillar led the Lightning with 21 points, while sophomore Zak Olejniczak added 10 points and Matt Sierakowski had nine points.
Fenton lost 63-45 to Linden varsity girls basketball.

Paige Leedle scored 19 points, Kelsey McLennan added 14 points, and Olivia Mawhinney scored 10 points for Linden. The Eagles earned a 5-2 victory in the Flint Metro League and a 7-3 victory overall. Madison Slezinski scored 11 points for Fenton, while Grace MacCaughan added 10.
Powers Catholic 44 in Mount Pleasant, 52
Powers defeated Mount Pleasant by 5-4 overall, while Mount Pleasant is 3-4. Alexcis Parker scored 23 points against the Powers, with Grace Cameron adding 11. Jordyn Egger led Mount Pleasant with 20 points. Powers defeat Camden to 5-4 overall.
Corunna 58, Ortonville Brandon 52
Riley Abney has sunk six 3-pointers in his run to 29 points for Brandon (2-6), while Corunna is 5-4.
Chesaning 41, Durand 33, and 31 are all women.
Durand (7-3) defeated Jessica Winslow 13 points, including eight assists, with Izzy Konesny eight assists and five steals, while Jordyn Lawrence six assists and six assists. Chesaning (7-2) was led by Kennedy McAlpine, who had 11 assists and 11 assists. Lillian Skaryd was also an inspiration.

Ava Boike scored 29 points to lead Genesee Christian, with Haven Chapman also scoring seven points, and Brooklyn Lange six. The Soldiers are 4-3 overall, and the GAC Red up 3-0. Morrice is down 6-3 overall.
Flint Elite39, Bentley 36
Taylor Keys led Flint Elite (3-2), with 16 points, Jamyah Gray added 12 points, and Samaria Quintana added two free throws with nine seconds remaining to cap the Warriors' comeback.
