Coinbase's crypto futures exchange buy is led by O'Melveny and DLA Piper
Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange's headway on its acquisition of FairX, which has tapped DLA Piper for the transaction.
Coinbase said on Wednesday that it would buy FairX to offer crypto derivatives to dealers in the United States.
The companies did not disclose the value of the transaction.
According to a statement from the OMelveny company, the Company's co-chair, C. Brophy Christensen, has led the company's corporate division, along with partners Noah Kornblith and Wenting Yu.
In a statement, DLA Piper said that Scott Kapp and Adam Spector are advising FairX.
Kapp claims that the company has counseled FairX through its inception and financing rounds.
FairX has sold futures products since the start of last year and is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
DLA Piper said earlier this month that it counseld Binance on in-principle approval to become a crypto-asset service provider in Bahrain.
