Pokemon Go events will be held in January 2022 as a result of Raids, a Research Breakthrough and more

In January 2022, the Pokemon mobile game will be holding new legendary Pokemon raids and a few other in-game events, as well as new Spotlight Hours.

Onix's January Research Breakthrough

Every time you make a Research Breakthrough in January, you'll earn a chance to catch the rock Pokemon Onix.

You'll earn one stamp for the first task you complete each day, and you must collect seven stamps in total to get a Research Breakthrough.

Spotlight Hours in January

The weekly Spotlight Hour event in Pokemon Go will continue on January 6 to 7 p.m. local time. There will be a different Pokemon and bonus, such as increased XP or candy.

The 4th of January is the first day of the month.

  • Spotlight Pokemon: Solosis
  • Spotlight bonus: 2x transfer candy

January 11th

  • Spotlight bonus: 2x catch Stardust

The 18th of January

Raids in January

A handful of legendary Pokemon will appear in five-star raids throughout January, including Shock Drive Genesect and Regice.

The Power Storm: An Event in the Mountains

On the other hand, a new event will consist of rock, steel, and other Pokemon that live on mountains throughout the event. Mega Aerodactyl will make its debut in Mega raids.

January Community Day

Spheal, the ice type, has been featured in January.

The ice Pokemon Spheal, which will appear in the wild much more frequently than usual throughout the event, will be earned a triple XP for getting Pokemon. Any Sealeo you evolve into Walrein will learn the Fast Attack Powder Snow and the Charged Attack Icicle Spear

The Community Day Classic

After this month's regular Community Day, Pokemon Go will be hosting its first on January 22, giving the players a chance to get a previously featured Pokemon and event move.
