Police say a gun was stolen in Florida and was found in Jackson County
A weapon recovered in Florida was taken off road in Jackson County, according to police.
A member of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle on South Mechanic Street near East Wilkins Street on January 12th.
According to Undersheriff Christopher Simpson, a deputy conducted a search of the vehicle. Two handguns were found, neither of which were registered to any of the seven persons in the vehicle.
Police say one of the guns had been reported to be stolen recently by the Kissimmee Florida Police Department.
Simpson claims that none of the occupants of the vehicle have been detained at this point, and an investigation is ongoing.
