John Pinette, the head of communication for Platforms, has left the business.
"We're gratifying for John's great contributions during the company's history," a Meta spokesperson told a statement on Saturday, "We wish him well going forward." Pinette's departure was denied by the spokesperson.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Pinette admitted that the news would be his final day before he retired. "I know the team will continue to prosper as you take some of the most important -- and most difficult -- work in Communications," the post stated.
Pinette had worked as a marketing coordinator and Co-founder for late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's firm Vulcan since 2019.
Meta has received an intense scrutiny after former Facebook employee a cache of that, among other things, showed firm researchers were aware of the harms caused by the platforms, which sparked high-profile late last year and.
According to Reuters, Chris Norton, vice president of international communications, will in charge of Pinette's former role.
