October 25, 2019 - Discovery Inc said on Wednesday the European Commission approved its proposed acquisition of WarnerMedia assets on A&T Inc.
The regulator approves the deal, but it doesn't guarantee the deal is being completed. Discovery said that it expects to complete its WarnerMedia transaction by mid-2022, subject to other regulatory approvals.
In May, AT&T announced that it'd spin off its WarnerMedia division and merge it with Discovery, and unwinding the 80-bit acquisition of Time Warner that shut in 2018.
