The Pakistani cricket board said it had a second procedure on Wednesday following the condition of acute coronary syndrome in Pakistan.
Acute coronary syndromes are associated with a heart bleed, which can cause the heart to block from occurring.
Abid, who had chest pain, was diagnosed with heart disease during a domestic first class match on Tuesday.
"Abid was able to take a second test today and is recovering," said the PCB.
"The CB medical team relates to the interventional medical team about further treatment and rehabilitation. Abid is currently stable."
The 34-year-old has played for Pakistan 16 matches, and has played six international matches at the beginning of a day.
