Trump: China May Face The Consequences If It Deliberately Allowed A Pandemic
China may face the consequences in case if it knowingly allowed an outbreak of a disease caused by a new coronavirus. This was stated on Saturday at a briefing at the White House by US President Donald Trump.
"We are conducting an investigation, we will see how the investigation goes," he said." < ... > If they [the Chinese] knowingly made this (if a mistake, it is a mistake), there must be consequences."
According to Trump, relations between Washington and Beijing before the events were constructive. "We signed a trade agreement, China buys products from our farmers for $250 billion, relations were good when we signed this," the US President said. Perhaps, Yes. But it all depends on whether it [the coronavirus outbreak] was a mistake or was done deliberately."
As previously stated by US Secretary of state Michael Pompeo, he expects that the Chinese authorities will allow foreign specialists to enter the laboratory in Wuhan, from which, according to a lot of American media, the coronavirus could begin to spread.
