SU-35 fighters escorted a US bomber over the sea of Okhotsk
Three SU-35 fighters flew to intercept a US strategic bomber, and escorted it over the sea of Okhotsk, according to journalists in the National Defense Management Center (NDMC) of the Russian Federation.
According to the military, at about 19:00 local time (midnight Moscow time), Russian air control means over the neutral waters of the Pacific ocean detected an air target approaching the state border of Russia.
"To intercept the target in the air, three SU-35S fighters were raised in turn from the air defense duty (air defense) forces of the Eastern military district, which classified and consistently escorted the US Air Force's B-1B strategic bomber over the sea of Okhotsk," the national center reported.
They stressed that violations of the state border of the Russian Federation by a strategic B-1B bomber of the US air force were not allowed. "After the removal of the American aircraft from the state border of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighters returned safely to their home airfield," the NTSU reported.
According to the Ministry, the entire flight of the Russian su-35S took place strictly according to international rules for the use of airspace.
