Thanksgiving weekend tradition returns to Ford Field on Friday as the best state football team takes the field two days of championship competition.

Hudson won the day's first state title by defeating Beal City 14-7 in Division 8; next is a division 2 showdown between the No. 1 Warren De La Salle and the No. 3 Tomato City Central, which kicks off Friday 1 p.m.

One of the main cities of the years last state, De La Salle, enters the state title game this year with a 1-2 record, and looking for its fourth program history, while Proverse City Central (12-1) is looking for his first championship trophy.

The two coaches in this game are graduates of Muskegon Orchard View with Dan Rohn and in de La Salle's second season with the Pilots, and in Traverse City Central's Eric Schugars in the seventh season with the Trojans.
