Tiyon Evans, the leading rusher of the State this season, announced on Friday that he had plans to move to the NCAA transfer portal for the team.

Evans was injured in a 62-24 win over Missouri on Oct. 2 at the moment. He had an ankle injury and had only played very poorly since then.

Evans posted his announcement on Twitter via Twitter.

Evans, who rated a 2021 class, came to Tennessee this season from Hutchinson Junior College. Evans, a native of Hartsville, was considered a strong South Carolina lean before being fired as the Gamecocks coach late in the 2020 season.

The Volunteers (6-5, 3-4 SEC) pick up Saturdays regular season on Saturday on their own in the league against Vanderbilt.
