Mark Osorio delivers in his team and coachs Boston English rout of Thanksgiving rival Latin ...

During his seven seasons and his play against Boston Latin, the Boston English football coach Ryan Conway never left the field with a win until Thursdays Thanksgiving showdown at Harvard Stadium.

After his opportunity to face the Wolfpack, the senior captain Mark Osorio completed seven of 14 passes for 171 yards and gave three touchdowns for the French side a 66-42 rout over Latin. The team had won 52 of the 56 other meetings in the previous 56 meetings.

Osorio realized that he wanted to be the best coach for a year to win against the Wolfpack at 5-4. Although Osorio helped English improve the season at five-4, Osorio knew for his part what it meant for his coach to win the match with the Wolfpack at 7-7.

"He's very excited,'' Osorio observed. "When we leave the stadium, he will get excited, texting us about everything, about everybody else talking about us.

All the alumni were very excited; one of them even shed a tear.

That matchup, which ended on which 108 combined points were scored, marked the highest-scoring contest in the 134-year series, the oldest continuous public high school football rivalry in the States.

Although the final score was stalemate and the first quarter was defiant, the game began with a goalless ache.

Osorio took a two-point break, as well as a touchdown for junior Malikai McClure, while senior captain Keesean Kerr took a 94 rushing yards and a touchdown.

In the second half the Wolfpack led by senior receiver Greg Rosenkranz (4 TD catches) ran within 10 yards.

Osorio failed only one pass in the second half, but Kerr continued his arm strength with a 40-yard completion to senior captain Jamari Howard on the next of the last play. Gethers punctuated the victory with a rushing TD as time expired.

As long as you coach them hard, try to beat them in the butt even when they need to be kicked in the butt and get them to hug them when they need to be hugged, Conway said. There's going to be a lot of hugging because we were kicking a lot of butt this week.
