WADA approved a major reform on Thursday to help athletes more represent themselves in the organisation's decision-making process.

On Wednesday the WADA decided to reform the athlete-management council in a two-day board meeting. At its meeting, the top 20 members will now be elected directly by sports professionals.

The move came after a number of athletes said they weren't able to represent themselves well.

After the meeting in Paris, president Witold Banka gave a news conference. "For many, the people in the world were supportive of this governance reform."

The agency said it also plans to make a committee for the ethics board and put more money into scientific research.
