It's not so perfect 100s, but North Attleborough has a milestone victory against Attleboro ...

ATTLEBORO The 62nd win over Attleboro in the 100th game of their Thanksgiving Day rivalry was not impressive; the tense victory was enough.

With two touchdowns from senior captain Tyler DeMattio, the Red Rocketeers won the 14-6 victory at Tozier-Cassidy Field in a physical slog, beating both teams 9 times and counting each other, and scored 13 penalties. But thanks to a touchdown from senior captain Tyler DeMattio, the Super Bowl-bound Red Rocketeers put a 62-30 8 win.

Don Johnson said that, Im really not surprised at all how the game went, North Attleborough coach said.

It was a quick turnaround for North (8-3), who beat Billerica last Saturday in the Division 3 state semifinal and now has a full week to prepare for the Super Bowl, against Marblehead at Gillette Stadium.

The celebration was just subdued, as if the Red Rocketeers sighed relief.

A coach said that his kids are tired and beat up in 2017, as long as it was a long season and some tough playoff games. Fortunately, in the end, there wasn't enough days to prepare.

The Blue Bombardiers reached its second attempt and struck with a 45-yard touchdown run from DeMattio. On second drive of the game, North Attleborough struck first with a half-yard touchdown run from North Attleborough. The Blue Bombardiers (4-4) answered with a 14-play drive, ending with a 5-yard touchdown from sophomore Adrian Rivera, but the extra-point kick wasn't good.

On the fourth and 20 yr, Attleborough quarterback Matt Harvie tried rushing on North senior Gavin Wells one too often and Wells broke up a big pass on downs.

After 4th and 21th, North Attleboros Gavin Wells comes up with a big PBU to give North the ball back with 3 minutes left.

To the moment I came to the game, I burnt a route where, of course, Hayden Hegarty ran a lot and tried to get me on the outside, so I knew it was coming Wells said.

DeMattio scored another touchdown with 1,54 left to put the Rocketeers up by eight.

Wells ended the game on the next drive with a leaping arrest of Harvie.

With this interception, Gavin Wells ends it with the time 0:01 left in the game. North will have to use a few knees to run out the clock.

We dropped back into zones just reading quarterback, looked at his eyes and played, Wells said.
