An Unknown Person Threatens To Detonate A Bomb In A Business Center In Kyiv
Police in Ukraine began negotiations with a man who entered the Bank's premises in the Leonardo business center, located in the center of Kyiv, and said that he had a bomb in his backpack, according to the announcement on Monday by Anton Gerashchenko, Deputy Minister of internal Affairs of the country."
"The police were called by a representative of Universal Bank JSC (located in the Leonardo business center) and reported that an unknown man under the age of 35 years came to the Department, said that he had a bomb in his backpack and asked to call the police. < ... > police Representatives began negotiations with the terrorist," he wrote on Facebook, adding that "a special police operation "Thunder" was put into effect. Gerashchenko clarified that the Bank's employees left the premises, and only the head remained in the Department.
On the 112 Ukraine TV channel, the Deputy Interior Minister added that the area around the scene was cordoned off by the police. "We hope that the negotiations will give their result, and this person will give up. We do not know if he has real weapons or if he only threatens, but we must do everything for the safety of our citizens," Gerashchenko said.
