A Court In Russia Sentenced Trevor Reed To 9 Years In Prison For Attacking A Police Officer In Moscow
Golovinsky court in Moscow on Thursday sentenced a student from the United States, Trevor Reed, to nine years in prison for using violence against a police officer that is dangerous to his life.
"The court found reed guilty under part 2 of article 318 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation ("Use of violence dangerous to life or health to a representative of the government") and imposed a sentence of nine years in prison," the source said.
The court decided to recover 300 thousand rubles from Reed. "The court decided to recover from the defendant moral damages for 150 thousand rubles in favor of each of the two victims," -said the press service of the court.
According to investigators, in August 2019, Reed attacked police officers who arrived after calling residents of a house on the Leningrad highway. They complained about an intoxicated man who argued with several women. When the foreigner was taken to the Police Department, he attacked the driver and his partner in the car. A criminal case was opened against the American, and he was imprisoned in a pre-trial detention center.
