Russian SU-27 Intercepted A US Reconnaissance Plane Over The Black Sea
A Russian SU-27 fighter intercepted an American P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance plane over the Black sea. The US plane did not violate the border of Russia and left after the approach of the aircraft of the Russian air force, told reporters on Monday at the National center for defense management (NCSO, part of the Russian Defense Ministry). "On July 27, 2020, an air target approaching the state border of the Russian Federation was detected by Russian air control means over the neutral waters of the Black Sea. To intercept the target, a SU-27 fighter was lifted into the air from the air defense (air defense) duty forces of the southern military district," the report said.
The center clarified that after the turn of the reconnaissance aircraft from the state border of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighter returned to the home airfield. "The entire flight of the Russian SU-27 took place strictly in accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. Violations of the state border of the Russian Federation were not allowed," the NCSU added.
Over the past week, this is not the first time that Russian consumers have accompanied American aircraft. On July 24, a SU-27 fighter from the southern military district air defense forces on duty also escorted a US air force P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft over the neutral waters of the Black sea. A day earlier, the national defense control center of the Russian Federation reported a similar case over the Black sea, then, too, to intercept the American P-8A Poseidon, a Russian SU-27 was lifted into the air.
