The Indian city's public transportation agency will provide a transport agency with 300 electric buses, said a British unit of commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland Ltd (ASOK.NS on Tuesday.

Switch will supply, operate and maintain the buses for the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation under a 12-year contract. These buses will be kept in use by around 5 million litres a year of fossil fuel consumption.
