GENESEE TWP., MI -- The state approved a air permit for the proposed asphalt plant at the city-district of Flint, an air permit approved by the state, despite a citizen campaign against it.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy approved the permit in a news release Monday, Nov. 15 but said the green light comes with the need to implement some comprehensive site-specific requirements as well as a variety of provisions that allow members to respect the laws and better protect the community.
