Tokyo Adopted An Additional Draft Budget Of $2.9 Billion Due To The Coronavirus
The authorities of the Japanese capital have adopted an additional draft budget of about 310 billion yen (about 2.9 billion dollars) to implement measures to combat the spread of the new coronavirus.
The allocated funds, in particular, will be used to support businesses that were forced to stop their activities due to coronavirus infection. Besides, the budget will be allocated to the local health system.
Tokyo's previously adopted core budget is 7.35 trillion yen ($69.7 billion).
The total number of people infected with coronavirus in Japan, including passengers and crew of the cruise ship Diamond Princess, exceeded 31 thousand. The number of fatalities is 1,011.
At the same time, Tokyo, where 239 new cases of infection were detected over the past day, continues to be the main focus of the spread of coronavirus in the country.
