Authorities have identified that a man shot and killed Saturday morning in Pleasantville, North Carolina, is a 41-year-old Somers Point resident.

Ivan Smith was killed on the North Main Street block shortly before 9:20 p.m., the Atlantic County prosecutor said Monday.

When police arrived, Smith was found lying on the sidewalk, and was pronounced dead at the scene because emergency workers were unable to revive him, officials said.

There isn't a claim that the shooting remains under investigation, and no arrests have yet been made.

Criminal records are generally required. Those who have information are called to the prosecutors office at 609-909-7666, or the advice bureau of the county of Washington also call The Crime Stoppers at 609-52-1234 or 1-800-658-8477. Paybacks are made to prove that information leads to arrest and indictment.
