- Pop star and actress Lady Gaga celebrated Britney Spears' release from a conservatorship imposed more than a decade ago after suffering from mental health issues. The musician called Spears an inspiration who badly treated by the music industry.
Gaga, who said she's also struggled with mental health issues, including as well as trauma attributed to a sexual assault to the music producer when she was only 19 years old, spoke to Reuters about Spears during the red carpet premiere on Saturday of "House of Gucci" in Milan.
"She's insanely talented, she's extremely inspirational, and I'm so glad, we celebrate today, and that she's going to start a new phase of her life," Gaga said of Spears.
Spears won back her freedom on Friday after 13 years under a conservatorship that controlled how she spent her money, when she performed, and who could access her house and the medications she took.
Seeing as fans eagerly waited for her release from the conservatorship, her situation was seen in films.
After the break in which she had broken her head, and immediately came into a rehab center, the music industry lost faith.
Spears "authored freedom" while fighting for the right to be released from the conservatorship. "She worked so hard for that moment and I hope she feels that."
