The Food Bank Network announced the hiring of Steve Katz as its new executive director, the new executive director replaced Marie Scannell, who served in the position for 34 years.
Marie helped all of the FBNSCs lives so much that she has dedicated her life to helping in securing the need.
The FBNSC recently moved into a new facility to better serve the needs of the community. Without Maries leadership we would never have been able to make this move, White continued. She kept us focused on being fiscally prudent while building strong community support and relationships that let us grow into our new building.
The Food Bank is beginning to enter the busiest season. Despite the variety of skills he brings, he will return to the department of food and rescue.

The FBNSC earns no public money and is operated by a staff of professionals and volunteers. It provides free food to every county in need directly from its Bridgewater warehouse and satellite pantries in Bound Brook, North Plainfield, Raritan and Somerville. It also provides regular weekend and summer meals for school children and food support for various state and county nays.
