California-based health officials believe newly-authorized pediatric vaccines for children ages 5-11 have the potential to significantly reduce COVID-19 in schools.
Without the children of an eligible age, they will need to be treated for health emergencies, said Joel Strasz. If demand is high for the shots, immunizing kids could be severe and destructive, he said.
