A global coalition is required to develop a vaccine for COVID-19, a disease caused by a coronavirus infection. This was stated by UN Secretary-General António Guterres on April 18.
"We need a global coalition to develop a vaccine for CAVID-19 that should be available everywhere and for everyone," he wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday.
At the same time, Guterres stressed that the vaccine should be perceived as a global public domain.
At the moment, seven research centers are developing the vaccine in Russia, and clinical trials should begin soon. According to who, there are 70 vaccines in development worldwide, and three are undergoing clinical trials.
