The Tourist Flow To Cyprus Fell By 84% For Six Months

The number of tourists in Cyprus for the first six months decreased by 84.3%, in June, the drop in tourist flow was 98.2% compared to June 2019, according to data from the government Bureau of press and information.

From January to June 2020, 255,675 tourists came to Cyprus, in 2019 — 1,613,023. In June this year, 9,919 tourists arrived on the island, in June 2019 there were 509,662 of them. The ban on tourists was in effect until June 8, 2020. The number of arrivals from Greece in June decreased by 75.8% compared to last year, from Germany — by 93.1%, from Switzerland — by 93% and from Austria — by 91.1%.

The data is available on the electronic platform Cyprus Flight Pass. Passengers traveling to Cyprus were required to provide flight information, country of residence, the purpose of visit, and some other demographic information.
