Roscosmos Reported Problems During The Docking Of Progress MS-15 To The ISS
When the Progress MS-15 space cargo ship docked to the ISS, problems occurred, Roscosmos told. However, the difficulties encountered did not prevent the docking in automatic mode.
"During the docking of the Progress MS-15 transport cargo ship, there were indeed some deviations of the transport cargo ship relative to the target. The docking process was monitored by ground control personnel and the crew of the Russian segment of the ISS. Deviations from the target were within the tolerance, " the state Corporation said.
Roscosmos added that there was no need to switch to manual control of the docking. Now the manufacturer of the RSC Energia spacecraft is conducting an analysis of the docking process and the functioning of the rendezvous system.
Progress MS-15 delivered 2.5 tons of cargo to the ISS, including fuel and gases, equipment for the station and experiments, hygiene products, medicines, clothing, food rations, and 420 liters of water in tanks. The cargo ship set a new record for the flight time to the ISS. It took 3 hours and 18 minutes from the launch from Baikonur to the touchdown of the ship with the ISS.
