Police Detained 55 Protesters Outside Netanyahu's Residence
Israeli police detained 55 participants in a mass protest outside the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
"Last night, a protest rally coordinated with the police took place in Jerusalem. After its completion, some protesters refused to disperse. The police were forced to act to restore public order. Fifty-five suspects were detained for violating public order, attacking police officers and violence against other demonstrators," the report said.
According to the Times of Israel, about 4,000 people took part in another protest outside Netanyahu's residence in Jerusalem on Thursday evening. The police actively used water cannons to restore order, the newspaper notes.
Promotions at the Prime Minister's residence have not stopped since mid-July. Protesters are demanding the government's resignation amid a developing crisis in the country caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
