Bar Refaeli And Her Mother Have Officially Pleaded Guilty In The Fraud Case
On July 20, a five-year epic ended in a Tel Aviv court. Bar Refaeli, a 35-year-old model, has officially pleaded guilty to filing false tax returns while living abroad. We are talking about the period from 2009 to 2012, when Bar met with Leonardo DiCaprio and tried to prove to the Israeli authorities that their Union can be considered family and she, accordingly, should not be considered a tax resident of her native country.
But, as it turned out, Rafaeli also did not pay taxes in the United States, and besides, she actively conducted business in Israel. In which her mother, who works as her agent, helped her. She was the one who made rental deals, signed barter contracts, and other documents to hide her daughter's connection to Israel.
Wearing medical masks, Bar Refaeli and her mother Tzipi arrived at the Tel Aviv court, where numerous journalists and photographers were waiting for them. Under a plea agreement last month, Rafaeli is sentenced to nine months of community service, while her mother will go to prison for 16 months. They will also have to pay fines of $725,000 and return taxes of $2.3 million to the state.
