Turkey Has Started Geological Exploration In The Black Sea

The Turkish drilling vessel "Fatih" has started carrying out the first geological exploration in the Black Sea, according to the Turkish Minister of energy and natural resources Fatih Dönmez.

"Fatih started drilling at the Tuna-1 site in the Black sea with the support of our people. We will work on every square meter of our seas to achieve energy independence. If there is something there, we will definitely find it," the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic wrote on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile, it was previously expected that the ship "Fatih" would start geological exploration in the Black Sea on July 15.

According to Sabah newspaper, the "tuna-1" section is located near the intersection of the Bulgarian and Romanian sea borders with the internal waters of Turkey. In the past, the first Turkish seismic vessel, the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha, conducted exploratory work in the Black sea and identified rich natural gas reserves in the Western part of the Black Sea.
