Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Will Take Place On August 5, 2020
"A new look unfolds" — this text, as well as the date August 5, 2020, the Twitter account of the British division of Samsung accompanied the new teaser video. On it, a drop of liquid copper-colored metal turns into a metallic butterfly. Obviously, the company is clearly hinting at the imminent announcement of the next device from the line of folding devices with a flexible screen — Galaxy Fold.
Until the last moment, it was unclear whether the South Korean company will show only the new flagship smartphones Note20 and Watch Active at the presentation of Galaxy Unpacked, or will announce a modified Galaxy Fold along with them. Now there was no doubt.
For all its innovation, the Samsung Galaxy Fold released last year also received a lot of criticism. The first widely available folding smartphone with a flexible screen had to be recalled and modified due to unreliable display protection in the first version. Some users still have complaints about the modified version, for example, the external screen was called too small and low-quality in comparison with the internal flexible OLED display of "tablet" sizes.
It is expected that the new hybrid smartphone and tablet with a flexible display will be equipped with a full-fledged external screen with a diagonal of 6.23 inches — with such dimensions, it will be possible, for example, to comfortably type text. According to the publication SamMobile, the diagonal of the primary, folding screen will increase slightly, and it will be able to output a smoother image with a scan frequency of 120 Hz. Rumors also promise the internal display a protective coating of ultra-thin flexible glass.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will run on the latest Qualcomm — Snapdragon 865+ processor and will get 256 or 512 GB of internal memory, the same cameras as the Galaxy Note20, as well as a 4365 mAh battery with 25-watt wired and 15-watt wireless fast charging. The device will also support a cellular network of the fifth generation.
The big presentation of Galaxy Unpacked will be held in the format of an online broadcast on August 5, 2020. The teaser video announcing the presentation shows a copper-colored digital s-Pen with a matte surface. Previously, Samsung has not released smartphones in this color, but recently on the Russian website of the company found images of a yet-to-be-announced device in just this shade. Presumably, this is the Galaxy Note20 Ultra. Recently, the network showed a video of the "younger" model, Note20.
