Eighteen Police Officers Were Injured During A Protest In Chicago
At least 18 police officers were injured in Chicago (Illinois) during a protest on July 17, according to CNN with reference to the local police Department.
According to the TV channel, as the crowd approached the monument to the Navigator Christopher Columbus (1451-1506), some protesters began to throw stones, bottles and other objects at the police who were providing security at the demonstration. Several injured police officers were hospitalized.
As a result of the riots, 12 people were detained.
