Tim Allen, actor and comedian, appears to have lost his job as the voice of Toy Storys Buzz Lightyear, at least for the time being. The space adventurer is being played by a different actor in the newly released trailer for an upcoming feature film about the character.

Chris Evans, the voice of Captain America, is only heard once in the trailer for Lightyear, which will be released in theaters next year. Buzz Lightyear, the person who ultimately becomes the inspiration for the toy in the Toy Story series, will be explored in Lightyear.

Allen, who grew up in Birmingham and has been voicing the character since the beginning of the Toy Story movie in 1995. Since then, the franchise has expanded to include four feature films, with numerous short films and TV specials also being aired over the years. While Allen hasn't voiced Lightyear in every film involving the character, he has been involved in several of the more notable ones and voices several cameos relating to the protagonist.

Its unclear if Allen will no longer voice the character in any future projects or unless Evans was cast in order to portray the actor s human nature.

Allen is best known for his roles in the television series Home Improvement and Last Man Standing. He also appeared in films such as The Santa Clause and Jungle 2 Jungle. Since 2009, he has provided voiceover for Michigans Pure Michigan marketing campaigns.
