Per court records, former Patriot Patrick Chung has been charged with domestic violence in Milton

According to court records, former New England Patriot Patrick Chung is scheduled to appear in a Quincy courtroom Tuesday for alleged domestic violence in Milton.

Chung, 34, lives in Norton and is accused of assault and battery against a family member and vandalism, acts he allegedly committed in Milton on Monday, according to court documents.

Chung retired in March after opting out of the 2020-21 season due to the coronavirus epidemic. He was drafted by the Patriots in 2009 out of Oregon, and spent 10 of his 11 seasons in the NFL in New England. He was a member of three Super Bowl-winning teams and he was an integral part of the Patriots defensive effort in the 2015 win over the Seahawks.

Chung cofounded a commercial real estate firm in the area during he had waited one year to return to the game before his retirement.

Chung was indicted in August 2019 for possession of a controlled drug, based on policing's investigation of Chang'' NH home earlier that summer.

As long as Chung remained out of trouble for two years, underwent drug screening, and completed 40 hours of community service in January 2020, New Hampshire prosecutors agreed to drop the cocaine charge.

This is a developing story and will be updated as new information becomes available.
