Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos' Net Worth Has Increased To A Record $180 Billion
The share price of online retailer Amazon reached a record high in trading on Wednesday. The company's market value rose to $1.54 trillion. Thanks to this, the fortune of its founder, Jeff Bezos, has grown to a record of $182.6 billion. According to Forbes, Bezos is the richest man in the world. It owns 11.1% of Amazon. As the magazine notes, this is a record value for the entire time of conducting statistics.
Amazon shares fell by 15% in the first half of March when the incidence of coronavirus began to grow in the United States. After the March downturn, the share price increased by more than 80% due to the growth of the online trading segment amid the closure of stores and shopping centers.
The previous record was broken on July 2, when Bezos' fortune reached $172 billion.
In April, Forbes placed Bezos at the top of the list of the world's richest people for the third time. According to the magazine's estimates, at that time his fortune was $113 billion.
