Please, Stop Trying To One-Up Ice-T About Television History (Because He Will Come For You)
Ice-T is no stranger to a lot of Twitter users. That should not be a surprise, but he sure as heck enjoys kicking back when people get argumentative with him. Hes roasted squares talking sh*t who give him hell for playing a cop on Law and Order: SVU, and heve aired his take on the cops who pulled him over on his way to work (of course, to play svu). You know, hed have a couple things to say when people tried to correct him on television history, especially on the day that SVU will air its 500th episode.
Ice was in the mood to celebrate. TONIGHT! he tweeted. Something that has never been done. 500 episodes of a TV Series. Tonight is the 500th episode of the longest-running Primetime Drama in History.
500 episodes is a huge accomplishment, especially considering that SVU outlasted the original Law and Order flagship series, which called it quits ten years ago (although there will be rekindled versions of the series coming). Thats 500 episodes of putting sex offenders behind bars and Ice Fin Tutuola taking no sh*t (although, as evidenced by John Mulaney, he does occasionally go to a strange place in dialogue-land).
Nonetheless, a few people decided to try and rain on Ices parade. Ice pushed back (in a now-deleted tweet), when someone came up to quote Gunsmokes 600+ episodes.
And of course, a few anime and The Simpsons were mentioned as well, as did several others. Yup, you read that correctly. Ice-T isn't listening to them either. He then proceeded to ask, And those are REAL people, right? Most MFs hate to disagree.
It doesnt matter whos right here, doesn't it? All of these television programs have produced an absurd number of episodes, and SVU has reached an unprecedented milestone. Ice-T is right about the notion that people love to disagree.
Law and Order: SVU, which airs on Thursday nights, is a television series on NBC.
