A boil water warning that affected three Genesee County communities has been lifted.
Wednesday afternoon, Gaines Township, Clayton Township and Swartz Creeks boil water warnings were all lifted.
According to a news release from the Genesee County Drain Commissioners Office, the water supply was affected by, on Monday, Oct. 18, at Miller Road in Swartz Creek, resulting from dripping of the main.
After the water main break, the boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure.
The water main was replaced hours after breaking. Two rounds of 24-hour water testing were performed, revealing that the water meets the criteria for safe drinking.
The county stated in the news release that the residents of these towns' patience and understanding during the past two days was highly appreciated.
