After a car crash in southeastern Tillamook County, dozens of people were taken from towed vehicles after rescuing tens of thousands of children from an unwrapped vehicle, officials said.

The Tillamook County Sheriffs Office said deputies responded to reports of the crash east of Tillmoak on Oregon 6. Witnesses told investigators that the driver, who hasn't been publicly identified, had been driving dangerously before the crash.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office, the vehicle was westbound toward Tillamook, making several bad passes before crashing and landing in the river.

Officials did not disclose the exact location or what caused the accident, but the road runs parallel to the Wilson River along the highway.

The woman and her child were rescued safely from the partially submerged vehicle, officials said, and Oregon State Police investigators were investigating the crash.
