Submit your concerns about domestic violence to Anna Canzano ...

That Expert Show host Anna Canzano is inviting you to submit questions about domestic violence. Kevin Barton, District Attorney for Washington County, will be guest tonight. Theyll answer questions, discuss how COVID has affected the problem, what is being done to hold offenders accountable, and what resources are available to survivors.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Canzano and her featured guest will discuss how to recognize relationship abuse and its warning signs, how abusers gain power and control over another individual, and why people abuse. Theyll also discuss how survivors can develop a safety plan for themselves, their children, and their pets. How you can help someone who you believe is being abused?

Mr. Barton was elected to office in May 2018 after serving as a career prosecutor in the Washington County District Attorneys Office where he prosecuted dozens of crimes, including murder, child abuse, assault, domestic violence, fraud, and theft.

Mr. Barton is a member of dozens of charitable and non-profit boards, including CARES Northwest, the Washington County Family Justice Center, and the Oregon Department of Justices Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Intervention Advisory Council, Safe Neighborhoods for Oregon, as well as the OR District Attorney Association.

Mr. Barton attended Gonzaga University and the University of Notre Dame Law School, and grew up in the Portland metropolitan area, where he has lived for more than thirty years.
