How this viral pug inspired a new meme on TikTok: 'Bones day' ...

If you're wondering what day you should be having today, 13-year-old pug Noodle suggests you treat yourself and take the day.

Noodle can't speak, of course, but he's part of a new TikTok trend in which erroneously predicts how your day will go -- in other words, whether it'll be 'bones day' or no-bone day. Here's what that means and what to know about the meme that've sprung up on TikTok.

What's a 'bones' or -if no-bone' day?

Jonathan Graziano, a TikToker, posts videos of his pug in the morning to see if "Noodle has bones" -- in other words, whether he stays standing when propped up in his dog bed or flops back down when let go.

If Noodle continues to be popular, it's a bones day, which means you should buy yourself that sushi you've been wanting or ask for that raise -- in other words, enjoy the day! But if he's stuffed back into his dog bed, it'll be a no-bones day, with the ability to change plans and be content.

Here's Noodle' s Monday prediction. (Spoiler alert: It's a bone day!)

Wann have the videos exploded in popularity?

Graziano has been posting videos of Noodle on TikTok since he joined the platform in late 2020, but the videos have really taken off in October, with each posting millions of views. This one of a "no-bones morning" from Oct. 4 has over 10 million views.

Graziano says in a voiceover on the clip that if today was the day you were planning to call your sister and tell her you just hate her husband, today is not the time to do that.

Graziano told Insider that he had about 50,000 TikTok followers two weeks ago; if questioned, graziana would probably cut it out.

The creator met Noodle in 2016 and adopted him after his owner was unable to take care of him anymore, according to reports. Since those early days, Graziano would try to get Noodle to rise in the mornings by supporting him up, but he'd often melt back into the ground -- "not due to an inability to stand up but rather, seemingly as a choice," Ghaziano told Insider. He's been posting pictures of Noodle on his Instagram account @showmenoodz, which has over 50,000 followers.

Graziano didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Other 'bones day' memes

Noodle has inspired TikTok hashtags like #nobones, which has over 151 million views, and #boneday, which has more than 32 million followers.

"Do I believe in astrology?" one user asks in an animated video. "No. Do I believe in that dog who predicts whether or not it's going to be a good day based on if they wake up with bones or no? "Yes."

"And I checked the forecast, and it was a no-bones day," says another TikToker as she lies down. Someone replies, "Well, yeah, if it's a no bones day, I mean what are you supposed to do?" It's no bones day!"

Another user poked fun at the pug's fortune-telling abilities (while also jokingly misquoting the catchphrase "Mercury'' is in retrograde"), saying, "Marcurly may be in Gatorade, but the dog had bones." Let's get this bread."

In one video, a TikToker shows how productive he is at work on shinny days.

As she looks blankly at the camera, another user posted a video that reads, "I literally woke up early, got dressed, and decided to finally be productive just to discover it's 'a no bones day'."

It turns out that the weather is no longer the only forecast we should be checking. "My biggest mistake today was that I didn't check the bones forecast this morning," one user wrote.

Be sure to add it to your to-do list.
