October hasn't been as productive as September for locating a PS5 restock, but many retailers are making it simpler to guarantee shopper availability so you're not constantly refreshing with no guarantee. As long as you pay for either service, the Best Buy Totaltech subscription service and GameStop's PowerUp Rewards Pro systems have been offering early access to the next PS5 restocking. Meanwhile, PlayStation Direct has made it simpler to register for the waiting queue to assist deal with bots and resellers.
Based on our data, PlayStation Direct is the most likely location for the next console restock. We're also looking for a PS5 restock from Walmart and Amazon, which haven't had consoles in ages.

Why is the PS5 so difficult to find?
There are three main reasons why you're still having trouble getting a PS5. The first is simple: The system is widespread. Sony claims that the PS5 is its best-selling console and has sold 10 million copies since its launch.
The second is because of the present chip shortage, which affects most of our computers. Sony said it has secured enough chips to meet its fiscal year target of 14.8 million consoles.
It all comes down to bots as a final reason. Resellers are using software to purchase a colossal number of PS5s at once, leaving only tens of thousands for real people to buy. Retailers included bot protections during PS5 restockings, but these restrictions only severely hinder resellers.

How do I obtain a PS5 from PlayStation Direct?
The store with the most frequent PS5 restocks is Sony's official store, PlayStation Direct. Drop-offs are usually at 2 p.m. (5 p.m. During the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, EDT) during the middle of the work week. What Sony has done recently is to give a lucky few email invites for exclusive access to the store, which normally starts at 12 p.m. (3 p.m. PT) ET.
To get one of these special invites, you don't just need luck, but you must also have a PSN account. You may sign up for one on the PSN website and it's free. After you have created an account, you can then register to buy a PS5 on this page. It's a matter of being patient and having 'a little luck on your side' from here. Priority access emails appear to be sent randomly, but you'll have to wait in one of the queues on PlayStation Direct to qualify.
PlayStation Direct PS5 restocking works a little differently than other retailers. At the start time, there's a welcome page with rewinding clocks that indicate when the queue will begin. If you stay on this page, the website will start putting people in line to buy a PS5. When the time is up, people will be able to wait to purchase if they are interested. The page will be updated and say how long you'll have to wait, but this isn't a guarantee. To increase your chance, share the link with your other devices like your phone, once you're in a queue. Make sure that each device has a different IP address (such as having your phone on its mobile plan while your computer uses your home Wi-Fi). Your other device may be put into a different line that moves at fewer speeds, which may increase your chances of winning. Even if you don't own a PS5, as mentioned earlier, you may still get swag to buy one on the next go-round.
What are some helpful tips for buying a PS5?
Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Target, and Best Buy don't typically give much notice ahead of a restocking. Sometimes they'll have a replenishment in the morning, sometimes in late afternoon, and in some cases, even in mid-night. Here are some tips to help you get a head start on the competition.
First tip: Don't wait until you see an inventory drop alert for a PS5. Check the websites of major retailers for stock updates daily or even multiple times a day. (We've got them all lined up below.) If you do get some PS5 availability, go all-in with as many browsers and devices as possible. On a desktop, for example, open the retailer's website in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Do the same on your phone and tablet. The more devices and browsers, the better. It's like winning a lottery: The more you have, the better your chances of winning.
Second tip: Create accounts at the different retailers and make sure you're already logged in if you plan to get a PS5. Make sure your shipping, billing, and payment information is accurate on any device you can buy from, whether it's a laptop, desktop, or phone. This speeds checking out significantly, which is important as retailers' websites become increasingly cluttered, resulting in people losing their chances of securing a PS5.

How do I get early access to a PS5 restock?
While most retailers would like you to show up when a piece is marked in stock, the added difficulty in getting s5s has prompted Best Buy and GameStop to provide early access to sales for its paid members.
The recently extended Totaltech program from Best Buy offers a slew of benefits for its $200 per year price tag, but the biggest one for would-be PS5 owners is early access to "hot products during the holiday season," which means there will be limited access events where you could get ipad without having to click refresh on your browser because you're in oblivion.
All you have to do is sign up for the PowerUp Rewards Pro program to increase your chances of getting a PS5 from GameStop. This is a subscription program GameStop has been using for years, and it offers discounts and coupon codes as well as perks like obtaining e-mail updates for Game Informer magazine. This program costs $20 per year, but if GameStart is true to its promise, people who are enrolled in this program will be able to get 'a PS5 before it is available to everyone on the website.
