The Weeknd Postpones His After Hours Tour To Allow Him To Upgrade From Arenas To Stadiums ...

Due to the constraints of arenas, The Weeknd has postponed his After Hours Tour dates and said new dates will be announced in 2022. After performing at the 2021 Super Bowl, the singer apparently had a taste for the size posed by bringing jumbo stadium performances to the tour he has planned for his latest album.

The tour dates are changing and will begin in the summer of 2022, he wrote in his social media post. Due to the limitations of arenas and the demand for more shows, I want to do something bigger and more special for you which requires stadiums. Current tickets will be refunded automatically and all ticket holders will have priority to buy tickets for the stadium shows when they go on sale. New dates are set for later this year.

Prior to announcing the postponement, The Weeknd stated that his next full body of work might be ready before the tour, something that now seems to be firmly established, if the dates have been pushed back for him to move up to bigger venues. More recently, he said the project was already complete and was only waiting for a few features. Meanwhile, hes also working on an HBO series titled The Idol, so perhaps the longer wait for the tour will give him more flexibility to get all this work off his calendar.
